The Process
Creating a Prototype
After concluding our research and establishing a clear goal, we began developing our product. First, we consulted tech specialists to get a better sense of complicated coding environments and dependencies. David Sloan, Chief Technological Officer for Global Market Development in the Public Sector at Microsoft, aided in the process of installing the appropriate dependencies, and Adarsha Subick, Senior Data Scientist at Amazon Web Services, assisted in the deployment of the code. We began by crafting a neural network model over a diverse dataset of individuals with and without masks. We then created a facial recognition algorithm to detect masks. After the code was complete, we completed the wiring and 3D printed a case. We created a sleek, yet easy-to-use and kid-friendly model.

Materials List
We created a simple and understandable project. In an effort to keep our product easily accessible and affordable we attempted to minimize the cost of materials. The total production cost was under $40.
